Hooked on "Idol"

American Idol, a show that millions of people watch all over the world. It has everything...

Drama....

Comedy....

Suspense....

And you get mesmerized by the talent, and lack of talent of Americans.

If you look at it Filipinos and Americans have a lot in common. Watching "Idol" gives us a peek on what America really is. Its just like any other place. Full of talented people, and crazy people. Yes, crazy.

We'll see what happens...

Conflicts

Mars... the ultimate regalia of war and conflict, may have been the reason behind this salvo of drama in my life.

As I awoke from my diurnal slumber, an occurence produced by my night time billet, my cousin-in-law's wife entered the house with thespian flare. As if a goddess on Olympus, she announced her arrival.

Earlier, my mother told me about a small feud between my cousin-in-law and my own brother... something to do with the upkeep of our humble abode...

My eyebrows raised at the blasphemy of it. You see, I have been constantly reminding them of the horrid conditions of the house. I mean, their stuff strewn everywhere.

I am the bread winner. The least you can expect from all of them is a certain amount of respect.

As a result of their rivalry, an object of importance was put on the line. This object, which she gave to me as a house-warming present, was being pulled out of the house, due to the conflict between her and my sibling.

I have to admit that I was wrong when I declared out loud that she may take all that is hers and shove it up her ass. LOL... yeah I was wrong to say it out loud... but it felt sooo right!

Well, that started the high drama that played for an hour or so. I becoming quite brash and loud, she becoming even louder.

To make the story short, I asked them to pull their weight and do what is expected of them, even asking them to pitch in with the household utilities. To each his own.

I recognize my mistakes and admit them. I never scolded anyone, or asked too much from anyone. I guess people take these things for granted.

You ever wonder what makes life interesting. To me, conflicts such as what happened adds a little color into your life.

What astonishes me is that during bouts of household fury, I can step out of character and look into the situation, as if being the audience watching a horrible travesty. In that moment, you see things as being comical, with no sense at all.

The downside of living with family is that you can't say anything to anyone directly because you are afraid to hurt their feelings, but you tell it to anyone else who would want to hear anyway. The walls have ears and gossip and rumors run their cycle.

Until it reaches the person you are talking about. This is where war and conflicts are bred.

Oooops, I Did It Again!

Yes, i did another stupid thing... tried to contact my ex... and again, made me feel foolish. Well, life's like that. It's a good thing he did'nt say anything bad or sarcastic..well, maybe that's how I would like it see it.

There are times when you do something right, or nice, and the outcome ain't that favourable to you. Whatever you do, you can't seem to escape fate. Take for example Oedipus. A prophecy about him killing his own father and marrying his own mother came true. As a young man, he fled his town to stop this prophecy from being fulfilled. But he did it all unknowingly.

But my point, after all that inane babbling, is that I should be feeling guilty, but am not. The reason for this is, I have no idea why I am feeling guilty with breaking up with my ex.

Unlike Oedipus, it was only natural for him to feel guilty after finding out what he had done, which he had done unkowingly; I have no idea what I have done to deserve what I am going through right now.

I mean, I gave everything that I could have given, and then some...

...maybe that is the problem... I gave too much.

Oh well, c'est la vie.

A lot of things are going through my mind right now, about work and stuff, but I know it's not worth writing about. I don't want to be reminded of the bad things that goes through my life. If you notice, most of the stuff I write seems to revolve around one person. My Ex.

He's worth remembering.

This is sooooo true.

"I created my very own first breakup rule:

Destroy all pictures where he looks sexy and you look
happy.

Breakup rule No. 2: Until emotionally
stabilized, enter no stores.

Breakup rule No. 3:
Never stop thinking about him, even for a moment.
because that's the moment he'll appear.

And finally, the most important breakup rule:

No matter who broke your heart or how long it takes to heal,
you'll never get through it without your friends."

Another dreadful week.

After the fun, comes the tragic moments. Thank God its not that tragic. Financially, my resources have dwindled due to some unfortunate circumstances......HAAAAYYYY naku!

Fortunately, I have other resources to rely on, thanks in part to Robie Jones. This guy helps me out a lot.

But, I had to do something drastic. Yes, I sold stuff, I wont mention what, but it soooo hurts me to part ways with them.....hay naku.

Just to get by. I mean, I'm the bread winner here. I don't want to be, but I have to. Its such a huge burden to bare. And no one seems to be helping out, or try to help out. I just wish all of their luck changes so I dont have to work for a while.

We just had our family reunion on the last day of 2005. It was fun, I won a mini-transistor radio that I get to use on my way to work. It helps to dispell the boredom that creeps up to you while travelling.

Travelling is one thing I hate. Actually, what I hate most about it is the way Philippine jeepneys annoy you. I hate the way they drive. It freaks me out when they speed all the way to Buendia, and you're left slightly gasping for life. Not to mention the hazards of getting mugged inside the jeepney. I was a victim once. And it gave me nightmares.

There are also the freakazoids that litter the metro. The spitters, the nose-blowers, the sleeper-come-snorers. The coughers, the snackers, and the dreaded smokers. Don't get me wrong, I mean, I am a smoker myself. But smoking in a crowded jeep with kids or old people beside is a no-no.

What will it take to get an ounce of respect from these people. Lack of education is not an excuse. All of us were born with a certain amount of respect for others. I think they just choose to not excercise that.

That's why I have taken the FX taxies lately. But it too can fall prey to muggers. That's also one reason I don't take my fancy cellphone anymore. I just take my Sun Cellphone on a 3210 Nokia...

Well, that's all for today. Here is a recent pic of me and my niece Jennika. That's my other niece Angie in the background, taken at our house.
